ROBROS Stands Out at Humanoid Challenge
[Edaily, reporter Shin Young-bin] ROBROS announced on the 14th that research teams based on its platforms achieved outstanding results at the “Humanoid Real-World Challenge” held by the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement (KIRIA) in Myeong-dong, Seoul, on the 10th.
The event was organized to review the outcomes of the humanoid robot demonstration support project and to identify exemplary cases. Research teams from nine universities participated, utilizing humanoid platforms from major domestic companies including Rainbow Robotics, AIRobot, and ROBROS.

Notably, teams using ROBROS platforms took the top spots. Among the nine participating teams, Kwangwoon University, which conducted its demonstration based on a ROBROS platform, placed first, while Kyung Hee University came in third and Sogang University received a special award.
The research teams applied humanoid robots in real industrial environments such as logistics and shipbuilding to carry out tasks and collect data. Through this, they demonstrated that ROBROS' humanoid technology delivers stable operation and practical task performance capabilities across a variety of work environments.
The first-place Kwangwoon University team was highly rated for its demonstration case in which it performed clothing packaging work using the ROBROS humanoid robot “IGRIS” at a Lotte Global Logistics facility. It stands as a representative case of a humanoid robot performing work at an actual industrial site.
Meanwhile, the humanoid robot demonstration support project was carried out over about four months from September last year through the end of the year, with a total budget of 1.41 billion won. The logistics and shipbuilding segments were led by ROBROS, with participation from Kyung Hee University, Kwangwoon University, Sogang University, HD Hyundai Samho, and Lotte Global Logistics.
