ROBROS Supplies Nine Humanoids… Cumulative Production Reaches 36 Units

Adopted by 3 of 10 government demonstration projects
All nine units supplied under paid contracts, three per project

[Edaily, reporter Shin Young-bin] ROBROS announced on the 19th that it will supply nine units of its in-house developed bipedal humanoid "IGRIS-C" to nine institutions in the semiconductor, automotive manufacturing, and logistics sectors.

This supply is being carried out through the "Humanoid Robot Demonstration Support Program" organized by the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement. Of the 10 consortiums selected, three adopted IGRIS-C as their demonstration platform, with three units deployed per project for a total of nine units.

The robots will be used for demonstrations at actual industrial sites, including semiconductor cleanrooms, automotive manufacturing plants, and refrigerated logistics centers for fresh food. The company explained that all of these supply agreements were paid contracts.

As a result, cumulative sales of IGRIS-C have risen from nine units to 18. Cumulative production stands at 36 units. The remaining 18 units are being used for in-house research and development, technology demonstrations, and customer testing. ROBROS said this is currently the largest production volume among domestic bipedal humanoid companies.

IGRIS-C is a bipedal humanoid standing 154 cm tall and weighing 56 kg. It is designed to move around laboratories, factories, and logistics warehouses, and applies walking control technology that maintains balance even on slopes and stairs. It also features collision detection and control functions for collaboration with human workers.

The robot's hands can also be swapped depending on the task. It supports a "five-fingered humanoid hand" for multipurpose work, an electromagnet gripper for transporting metal parts, and a one-degree-of-freedom gripper that enhances operational stability.

The artificial intelligence (AI) technology embedded in the robot was also developed in-house. Along with reinforcement learning-based whole-body and walking control algorithms, the company provides teleoperation equipment for precision manipulation, a mobile app, and an AI data labeling platform. Following supply, it also plans to provide technical support as well as operations and training programs.
