Robot Developer Robros Raises Seed Funding From Three Firms Including Stick Ventures

Service robot R&D company Robros has secured seed funding from three venture capital firms, recognizing its technology.
According to the investment banking industry on the 21st, Stick Ventures, Primer Saje Partners, and GS Retail CVC will invest a total of 1.6 billion won in Robros' seed round.
This is Robros' first institutional investment. The company plans to accelerate development of next-generation service robot technology.
Robros is a service robot startup founded in 2021 by CEO Noh Seungjun, a UCLA graduate with startup experience in the US. CTO Park Hyunjoon earned a PhD at Seoul National University, has won more than 10 awards including Presidential Prizes at robot conferences and competitions, and published as first author in top journals IEEE TIE and RAL. CDO Kim Jinyoung earned a master's at the Royal College of Art and has worked on projects with Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics.
Robros is developing safe robots specialized for service fields, aiming for robots that can collaborate safely and efficiently with people. Service robots are gaining attention globally, with OpenAI leading an investment in Norway-based humanoid robot company 1X.
Robros opened its own testbed F&B store Better Than Yours in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, offering personalized drinks. The company has built a foundation for R&D and commercialization and plans to expand product lines into F&B, home care, and medical services.
Nam Changmo of Stick Ventures said he decided to invest quickly after seeing Robros' strong team and field-based R&D capabilities, and expects the company to meet unmet demand across fields starting with F&B.
CEO Roh said Robros has built know-how to analyze service needs and develop and commercialize robots for real-world use, and hopes its service robots will provide better services than people and change the service industry paradigm while fostering a creative culture.
